  Operation Manager – Kindersley, AB

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide direct leadership and professional insight in the areas of efficiency, profit management, customer relations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Will directly supervise dispatch, safety and compliance, fleet maintenance and drivers
  • Oversee daily operations including truck and trailer repair shop
  • Direct and coordinate activities of other department in order to obtain use of equipment, facilities, and human resources.
  • Monitor fleet performance to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Increase profitability by equipment utilization, fuel economy and driver satisfaction
  • Able to recognize company weaknesses and suggest/implement solutions
  • Remain current with the latest transportation technology systems and procedures
  • Assist President in any Managerial functions, projects or responsibilities as required
  • Direct Hire position, with an established and growing Transportation & Logistics company.
  • Plan, organize and supervise activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking company trucks to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with customer requirements.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
  • Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to fulfill customer orders.
  • Monitor fleet performance to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Successful candidate will require 5 years in the transportation industry, dealing with the day to day management
  • Plan, organize and supervise activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking company trucks to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with customer requirements.
  • Must have experience working for van and flatbed carriers
  • Post secondary education in business or related field would be greatly beneficial, but not necessarily required
  • Must possess strong knowledge of safety and compliance unique to the industry
  • Proficiency with MS Office and experience with dispatch integrated software
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to be assertive and pro-active in the role as necessary
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, organize and prioritize work load in order to meet numerous deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, friendly, outgoing personality.
